After having this same 610 for 14 years and not having much trouble then selling it after getting my S 250 I'm getting it back for less then 1/3 I sold it for!! WOO HOO!! The left rear axle seal is leaking and my local dealer whats over $800 plus parts so this is a DIY project. Just a little history before I sold this 610 3 years ago I rebuilt all the cylinders, starter, alt, battery, seat and all the tubes.. If someone has done this and would like to help me out that would be great or maybe let me know where to find info on this subject..

just bought a 610 myself. it came with a service manual. the service manual has very good instructions and diagrams on most of the repairs. i have to do a front seal on mine.

As Bobcat says, the manual gives a pretty detailed description of this procedure. It is a significant job.......that's why the large estimate. One thing I will mention is that often the reason it is leaking is the seals have worn a grove in the shaft......be sure to check for that and use a "speedi-sleave" if necessary. If you need it, let me know and I'll give you a Napa part number for one.

When I talked to my dealer they said there was 2 seals and a speedy-sleeve in the kit. This is the good part about this seal leaking when I sold this 610 3 years ago it was just starting to leak because my daughter was cleaning out the house building and got twine rapped around this axle and it cut the seal. I will have to check around to see if I can find a service manual. I have to come clean I am only buying this back to use it to clean some heavy stuff out of the barn where I live before we burn it down, my S 250 will not fit in it, The barn is in bad shape and don't trust if to cut a hole in a wall to get it in. The barn was re vamped 18 years ago for this 610 to get around in. I will repair it, use it and then resell it! LOL So I guess if someone if interested they may want to watch the for sale ads..

I know this is a long shot but if you are still around do you know the part number for that sleeve?
