Bobcat 610, I am going to do some general maintenance and noticed the little spring thing on the engine side of the air filter manifold has melted. What is this? I can't seem to find a part number for the replacement. The spring is sticking up, and there is an unfiltered hole. Any thoughts, anyone?

That is part number 1735188. That is an airflow indicator.

It is in that parts catalog under "Air Cleaner":

Hi, I just realized that there is something called a "Cup/breather" (#2 in the attached image above) which is missing on my 643. Is this just to prevent too much debris/dust to enter the air filter compartment or what is the real reason for this "breather" part?

Cheers!

It's for keeping out large debris, rain and rodents.

If you note the location of the inlet of the breather housing it is down by the outlet air is drawn in and passes over the plastic part of the air filter which has fins that causes the air to swirl around the air filter the heavier particals tend to end up in the cup so the filter doesn't fill up with the larger particals, it could be possible that the band clamp is under the engine and maybe the cup if so it could be rubbing a hole in the oil pan, I know if it was mine I would investigate, we used to us pliers to tighten the clamp a LITTLE tighter then finger tight on the New Hollands with diesel engines as they were prone to vibrating lose.
