    743 Spool Leak -

Thanks Tazza. Yes, it's the screw between the spool rod and the spring assembly....only screw in there I think. Anyway, at the moment it's at the engineers for screw removal, I don't want to risk damaging the spool rod myself. The engineer said he will disassemble the detent housing, so I'll...

    743 Spool Leak -

Hi Folks My 743 sprung a massive hydraulic leak at the boom up/down spool (top spool - left hand pedal). I have removed the spool and found that the screw that connects the spool with the rear spring assembly has sheared off. Possibly this resulted in the seal failure..not sure. I can only see...

Bobcat 743 Oil Cooler Massive Leak

I think I tapped the seal in too far...I wasnt expecting the seal to keep going, I'm used to them backing up against a rear face and I didn't look too hard when I took the old one out as oil was gushing out. So, the thing seems to be leaking as I turn the shaft, so I suspect being back too far...

743 Parts Australia - Where can I buy?

Thanks... The shipping however is a joke, US $90. Therefore all up USD $100 which in AUD means I would be paying about AUD $133 for a seal. I can get one locally for AUD $66, still a rip off but cheaper.

Bobcat 743 Oil Cooler Massive Leak

Thanks Tazza. I should be able to change the seal without bother - I hope. I have removed the shroud and done the best clean up I can for the moment, there was a lot of crud everywhere. Next Ill bring in a high pressure cleaner before anything else. After the initial clean up the steel pipes do...

Bobcat 743 Oil Cooler Massive Leak

Removed the bottom bolt that holds the base of the shroud down. Had to grind it off from below. I now think the hydraulic input shaft may be leaking. At first I thought the build up of mud around it all was dryish, but it isnt, it looks quite wet as are the uni couplings in the engine, which...

Bobcat 743 Oil Cooler Massive Leak

Ive pulled the engine with minimal blood loss, but on soft dirt outside away from the shed it was no mean feat. I have cleaned up the floor so I can work in there without looking like I've taken an oil bath. The plastic shroud has a deep pool of oil in it. I'm wondering how it managed to get in...

Bobcat 743 Oil Cooler Massive Leak

Well DERR me! I inspected the cooler, couldnt see anything at all wrong with it, so decided to put it back and watch carefully at first start...after a thorough cleaning so I could actually see what was going on. OIL is being thrown UP towards the cooler mostly from the LHS (from rear) by the...

Bobcat 743 Oil Cooler Massive Leak

And I assume these fittings being flare-type dont require O-rings, as neither had one.

Bobcat 743 Oil Cooler Massive Leak

Thanks. I've removed and given the cooler a really thorough cleaning. I cant see any signs of damage, cracks etc. The end where it appeared to have sprung the big leak was chokkas with crud as if its been leaking there slowly for some time. I dont have any way of pressure testing it...I'll see...

Bobcat 743 Oil Cooler Massive Leak

Hi Folks I have a well used 743 that I only use occasionally on my property, generally its been pretty good. Its done a lot of work, about 8000 hrs. Yesterday it suddenly pissed hydraulic fluid....everywhere, massive leak. After inspection I have traced it back to the cooler, under the radiator...

    Bobcat 742/743

You guys are lucky with your prices. Here in OZ, we have to pay a lot more for a Bobcat. I paid $13K for my tired (but relatively new replaced diesel engine) 743. It came with 4in1 bucket, GP bucket, LM bucket and forks + 7 spare tyres and one rim. The upside is that we can sell a completely...

    Bobcat 743 Fuel Problems

    Bobcat 743 Fuel Problems

Yep, plenty of fuel, about 3/4 full. Venting is a good point too. Something seems to be disallowing fuel through. I cant check until about another week, the machine is on my country block.....I'll see how I go. Thanks for all the advice.
