    743 head gasket/head replacement

Blowing the dip stick out is from crank case pressure, this is almost always due to rings not sealing the bores. You mentioned that you have had over heating issues, there is a good chance the rings have stuck in the ring grooves. You are this deep, pull the sump, then the pistons. Check the...

    751 pug engine parts

Where are you located? Do keep in mind, the pug does run backwards, so you need to mess with your pumps to make this work

    Bobcat 751 Under cab photos

If you can't get pictures, get hold of the service manual, it will have a wiring diagram. I had a lightly cooked 753 that i used the wiring diagram to work out what went where.

    743b skidsteer with kubota engine.

Lift pump is the likely cause, the injector pumps can leak, but it is no where near as common.

Help with Bobcat 753 fuel injection pump

I'm surprised the pump worked on the V2203, unless someone had changed the engine from a v1702 to a 2203. Did you check your injection timing was right? this can be a cause of smoke. Keep in mind, diesels do not run rich or lean like petrol/gas engines do. Sure, there are air/fuel ratios that...

    743/ v1702 Kubota expansion plugs

They are metric, i guess i'm spoiled, as i live in Australia and metric is the standard over here. We have no issues getting these plugs

    743/ v1702 Kubota expansion plugs

They are standard sizes, any auto parts store or even ebay will have them. Pull them out and measure them.

Throttle Will Not Advance Bobcat 743

Generally when the pump is not installed into the slot of the govenor arm, it runs at full fuel and will not shut down unless you choke it out. I'd suspect a sticky injector pump rack. It should be free enough so you can almost turn it one way or the other and the rack slides on its own. You...

Fuel going into the engine - 843 with Isuzu 4JB1 - Now what?

Sadly i think you're sending your pump off to be repaired.

Fuel going into the engine - 843 with Isuzu 4JB1 - Now what?

You're running a perkins? I'd lean towards the issue being a bad lift pump, if it's not part of the injector pump, just install an electric lift pump and by-pass the mechanical one. It is not unusual for a pump to fail and makes you make engine oil.

1988 743 bobcat overheating issue cant figure it out.

Parts to keep an eye out on these engines is if it's been cracked for a while, people run water and not coolant so welch plugs rust from the inside out. There are a few hidden ones, behind the front cover and one on the back behind the mounting plate. We have had engines come in with water...

1988 743 bobcat overheating issue cant figure it out.

These heads always crack when over heated, we rebuild this model engine, and if the engine has been over heated in the past, there is a very good chance the head is cracked.

    Another Bobcat Dealer shocker

Why would they take the glow plugs out and spin it over? you already ran the engine, there is no point doing this a second time, If it hydro locked the damage would already be done and only a compression test or removing the head would show if a rod was bent. A compression test takes 30 mins...

    V1702 injector pump timing

From memory it is 15/18 BTDC. If you still have the markings and pointer on the front pulley, work with those markings. I don't do the actual rebuilds in our workshop to have exact details. Removing the pump after the rebuild isn't hard, i'd put it in with the shims and you should be right.
