Just a thought for the future use a crayon or wax with a little heat and then let cool... never had an issue when I used this method. Sounds wierd but it works
I have a 642 and just leave mine parked in the Garage heated. When I was in my 20s these would get left out side but be plugged in full time. The old ford and mitch. Motor were always cold blooded. Unfortunately I have never experienced this guys issue. It does sound like a switch issue. Just a...
Have to ask, how do you like the kholer motor? I always keep that motor in mind if Blow up my kent ford motor in my 642 .
Adding weight shouldn't be to hard. I have seen guy buy old weight sets and weld rods to the back to add weight. I like jacks idea of melting lead down.
I have a 86' 642 with kent ford motor. I have to confirm Zeke those are my location for sending units. As far as ignoring the lights that's always a gamble. You could have a value going bad or broken spring and they don't always show up really noticeable symptoms. When unsure check it out. You...
I ran into the heat gauge sending unit was also the wrong one making my gauge read higher than it should..ST cloud bobcat knew thier stuff and got me the correct parts. the last time I ran it was running at 160 degrees on a 3 mile drive to the gas station. Never went higher. It was 71 degrees...
Just an update after finding a ankowlageable Bobcat dealer. This units actual thermostat is 190 degrees. Actual running temps range from 170 degrees-220. With normal running in the190s. Dealer said on very hot days you can expect to see 200s-210. But you don't want to see much more than that...
That's a generic 600 series thermostat. I have the bobcat 642 the ford version and went through this whole deal with the bobcat dealer. First round they gave me that unit. I guess it can go in any of the 600 series units motors is what I was told. The actual one for the ford version opens at 190...

Do you have operation temperature for a 642 bobcat with the ford motor... my temp is ranging around 170-198/200 degrees the idiot temperature puts that at right at red. Bought a new thermostat from bobcat it says 88c or 190f ... I'm starting to think someone put a wrong sending sensor in
I have a thermostat to put in it but it seems to be missing the spring that is used to keep it in place. Do you by chance have the part number for that? Been having a hard time trying to source one.
I bought this bad boy used. Pretty decent shape. Ran it around for 20min and everything seem to work fine. So I bought it
Then I put her to work and she started to run warm. Not in the but darn close. Seeing the radiator was original and after flushing I decided to replace it and clean the...
