    Tilt cylinder pressure

Just had the tilt cylinder rebuilt for the second time. It still falls down, loaded or not, but not as fast as after the last rebuild. So now what do you think might be the problem. Someone mentions previously that the spool valve might need rebuilding..Where is it and what does it look like...

    Tilt cylinder pressure

I have changed the filter twice since owning the machine. The tilt cylinder wall was scored bad, the piston was scored as well on one side. The mechanic said it was the worst he had ever seen, naturally it was mine. Anyway, he took it away and a new cylinder was built and everything inside...

    Tilt cylinder pressure

A belated thanks for the information. My computer took a powder for a long time. Anyway, no I did not bend the rod, I just am having a time with it leaking and dropping down with or without a load. I had it rebuilt once, the cost was HIGH..it lasted about 15 minutes, so I have been living...

    BOBCAT 553 won't start

Your machine may not have an engine stop control..Mine does and it kills the engine when pulled out. I believe it actually chokes the engine down by cutting off the air. It looks like choke pull. Mine is located on the right side of the seat. I have the Kabota diesel engine that is how the...

    BOBCAT 553 won't start

Something as simple as making sure the engine stop control is pushed back in. Check this, because I cannot count the times I have left it pulled out and forget about it and then cranked and cranked..... Now I make sure I push it in before I exit the machine. Just an idea...

    Problems with Model 453

The loud clanking noise could very well be the back door if it is not locked REAL tight. Metal fragments in the fluid will cut the cylinder walls and ruin the piston packing, if this happens it will leak down slowly. It will cost big money to repair properly..I placed a magnet in my fluid tank...

    glow plug connection

It was necessary to replace the starter on my '88 643 Cat recently, as a consequence of taking the thing out, I pulled a wire loose that comes from the pre-heat relay that is suppose to be connected to the glow plug rail.. The only place that I can see where it might have been attached is at the...

    tilt cylinder

StuZ Man you ain't gonna believe this..am I snake bit or what? Planted the 48” fork in the ground to better see the connections, right? Left it that way overnight. Next morning I go out and the machine has lifted the front wheel off the ground and its sitting back on its butt...well, I...

    tilt cylinder

Thanks for the input. Hydrolic pump shavings are probably the cause of the metal..another HUGE expense. I still would like to take the cylinder apart..last time the mechanic planted the forks into the ground, took the lines off, took the pin out of the top..and I miss his taking the cylinder...

    tilt cylinder

I have a 643 model Bobcat, 1988 model year. Tilt cylinder was replaced last month as cylinder and piston end was deeply scored and seals destroyed..Now it is again failing to hold in position. Probably has more loose metal in fluid causing seal damage. I want to repair it myself, that is if...
