Thanks Mike10! I found the problem. I had jumpered a wire from the seat switch to the harness connector because I thought there was a bad wire in the harness. The wire got between the seat frame and the base that it sits on and was grounding. I removed the wire and all is fine.

I disconnected the linkage and determined that the bearing that the pedal rotates on is sticking. Is there an easy way to remove it? It looks like the shaft has to be driven out and the space is very confined.

Mine started to squeal as well. I greased all of the boom joints and then worked it up and down a few times, then greased the ones that were making the noise. Have someone help you locate the noisy joint because it's difficult to isolate the noise from inside the cab.

I will test the switches again. Thanks for the input. Why would everything run until I move the boom? If it was the switches, wouldn't the lights come on before I moved the boom?
