Tazza...I'm confused. Aren't the wear plates in the pumps? If so, I just had them rebuilt. I assumed this was part of that.

And I should mention I checked the reservoir after running it and I found no foaming. I am overheating the engine though but i dont feel that's related.

Pumps were just rebuilt on mine. The technician said the components were at the lower limits of the serviceable life.

I'm trying to remove the engine from my 742 to repair a bunch of fluid leaks. I have everything disconnected but I can't get the engine to pull off of the pump. I've tried jacking it up with a hoist and yanking on it but it won't pull back. I even tied a ratchet strap around it and pulled but...

I think this may have fixed it. I couldn't run it real long to get hot because I was busy and it's really sloppy wet around here. I ran it for a little while and when I would "goose" the throttle, it would still cough a little, but then as it got a little warmed up it seemed like it was gone so...

I took distributer cap off today and the points weren't even opening. I don't know how it was running at all. I'm going to set the gap and try again. If this improves or fixes it I will do the tune up as well.

I should clarify that the unit starts effortlessly even after it stalls.
