Looking to buy a LS180 Soon - Any think to know?

All good points mrbb! No arguments with any of that. It’s just that the issues mechwarrior07 brought up about the leaking fuel line and the occasional no start got me thinking about how well that particular machine was maintained given its age and my brief background as a farm hand running...

Looking to buy a LS180 Soon - Any think to know?

If I were looking to buy a used machine, I’d avoid anything used on a farm. They get run hard almost every day and get little maintenance because there’s so much work to do there is little time to go without a machine. I’d be looking for a machine used by a municipality instead. They are...

    Alternator overcharging with new regulator

The good news is that there are several easy checks you can do to analyze what’s going on. The first is to measure the battery voltage at the battery terminals with a trusted voltmeter with the engine running, that is, the battery is charging and compare it with the reading on the voltmeter in...

Is this a fair Bobcat service invoice?

Typical dealer prices for the parts. I do my own maintenance and save a bundle on labor and travel, but some parts like hydraulic filters, even from NAPA, are quite expensive.

    Coolant Flush & Fill

Thanks Foton, for the tip on coolant. Now I just to figure out how to flush and refill the entire cooling system. Any thoughts on this? Maybe Mike10, a long time poster and NH expert, can step in here?

    Coolant Flush & Fill

My '98 LX 565 is due for a cooling system refresh. It has cab heat. What is the correct procedure for a flush and fill coolant change? With all of the various coolants available these days, which one is appropriate for this NH model? With prices what they are, I can't afford dealer service on...

    Self leveling

Self leveling is also called “boom float”. Activate this feature by pressing the boom control pedal all the way down. You’ll feel the pedal kind of click over when it releases the hydraulics from the boom. This will have no effect on control of the bucket.

NH lx665 no start, no power to starter?

Could be as simple as a poor connection at the battery terminals. Pull the cables, clean the terminals on both the battery and cables, reconnect and check the battery voltage with a voltmeter. Should read at least 12.4 volts if fully charged.

    Adapting a Bobcat Backhoe

I'm finding a lot of great deals on Bobcat backhoe attachments. NH units seem tough to come by. What are the problems I can expect adapting a Bobcat backhoe to my 98 LX565? Don't hold back if you've done it! I want all the gory details.

    LX665 High FLow

I have an LX565 High Flow machine with a Quickattach 61 inch snowblower. Rarely do I ever flip the switch to enable high flow operation as the blower works great, even in 12 to 15 inches of snow, at the standard 15 gpm flow rate. On my machine high flow bumps up the rate to about 22 to 24 gpm. I...

    Disconnect High Flow Pump ?

I use high flow on my LX 565 during the winter months with my snow blower, but have no other use for high flow during the summer for landscape work and bringing in firewood. On my machine, the high flow pump runs in parallel with the auxiliary hydraulics pump when switched in and is belt driven...

How to test for worn boom and bucket pins?

With all of the knuckles on these SuperBoom NH skidsteers, how can a guy determine which ones are worn and should have the pins replaced? With just over 2800 hours on my LX565, I'm thinking that I must have some worn pins on the bucket and boom knuckles but don't know how to determine if they...

    B124 Backhoe Attachment Fitment

Got a call from the seller of the B124 backhoe regarding my question about fitting the unit to my LX565. He said that the unit does not have a universal mounting plate. Without that I don't see that it would be possible, without a lot of adapting hardware, to fit it to my s'steer. It would sure...

    B124 Backhoe Attachment Fitment

I've found an NH B124 backhoe attachment that fits an L550 skidsteer and would like to know if the mount will plug and play on my LX565 or if it has to be adapted. It's worth the price if it's P&P but not such a good deal if I have to make an adapter. Has anyone had an opportunity to try this swap?
