Yes, I will need that phone number. That was going to be my next move, to find a salvage yard. Thanks.

    743 Ujoint update

My thoughts exactly. Bobcat delivered the two u-joints connected to the coupler and that is where it failed. They could have torqued it to much.

    743 Ujoint update

Monday went to Bobcat dealer and showed the parts guy the ujoint. Parts man agreed that it looked like the part failed. Ordered me a new one to be in Tuesday. Tuesday, I get new ujoint at no charge and he says he will check with the girl in the warranty department about the collateral damage...

    743 u-joint again

I replaced both u-joints and the center between them. According to the parts manual they call it a coupling. The new joints were attached to the coupling. I replaced the bolts that attach to the yoke and the the bolts that attach it to the plate on the engine. I greased all the zerk fittings and...

    743 u-joint again

The motor mounts are brand new. Replaced them and the engine 4.5 hours ago. How can you check the alignment? There is no room to see it to determine the alignment that I can tell. Please advise if there is a way. I pulled the engine and looked over the ujoint. It broke at the coupling. Where I...

    743 u-joint again

Does anyone know why a 743 would throw a new u-joint? I replaced it and in the first half hour of operation it threw it into the radiator. I torque it and used loctitie like ya'll reccomended last time. Any ideas I would appreciate it. This is starting to get very expensive.

Thanks Ken. I was planning on using Loctite. I have been a fan of it for a long time. Kirk

    743 U-joints

I finally had a chance to get the engine out. I found that the 4 bolts that attach the u-joint to the flywheel have snapped. I suppose the u-joint failed then the bolts were sheered off. It took me about an hour and half to get the engine out, so I would say it is probably worth pulling the...

    743 U-joints

I can confirm that these u-joints will break. I just replaced the engine in my 743 and inspected the u-joint and greased it real well before I put it back together. I have put 4 hours on it since the new engine and today the u-joint broke. There was a very loud noise and then then nothing...

    743 jumpy and fast

I think I have found the problem. The center spring bolt has broken. I will know tomorrow once I get a new bolt. Thanks

    743 jumpy and fast

It wants to turn more right then left (it has always been this way)It moves a fair amount, but the weird part is that it is so much faster than it has ever been. It is the same in reverse. When I started it up yesterday it jumped so fast that the front wheels came off the ground.

    743 jumpy and fast

Thanks guys for your help last week on the overheating issues. This week I am haveing a problem with the left steering arm is much easier to move than it has ever been and there seems to be no neutral. The machine will take off at a very high speed which seems to be faster than it has ever been...
