    TonyF

I have 4 filters, one at the tank, and and three before the carb. All clear so I can see if they are getting full. If one gets full I can replace it or bypass it with just screwdriver. I have pressure washed the talk out and replaced all the hoses (at 30 years old they rot inside). That carb...

    I need a control valve....

I would try it for a while, could be a little foreign material got in the valve body when you were working on it. Easy to do. Spools have 1/2 the thickness of a hair or less clearance. It may work itself out.

Using a test stand to run in a V1702

I found a scanner for Bobcats and have sent the distributer a request for more information about updating software and will it allow you to reset the codes after repair is done. I think I am going to get one. Any one have one this brand...

    V1702 injector pump timing

Every 743 I have listened to at idle has a little pinging sound. Small but there. Possibilities timing or poor quality fuel. And of course bad injectors. Any body really got this to go away?

Using a test stand to run in a V1702

Second photo is video when its running click to see. I found three water leaks (minor) and two small oil leaks. One was the rear main seal flange, just needed a retorque. This one would have required that I remove the engine. I was also able to run it for an hour and then retorque the head and...

    Moving

There was a tool bobcat used to depress the two pressure relief valves located on the left from the front side of the hydrostatic unit under the cab. They are next to each other and when pulled out and the valve removed if you use a 1\8th inch rod you can depress the poppet valve. I made two...

    V1702 injector pump timing

I am going to run this on a test stand I made from a small pallet. I have seen it done many times on the internet seems smarter to do especially if there is a leak or something. I have a radiator from another project. I have 4 more engines to go through so it will get used. I will post a video...

    V1702 injector pump timing

Thanks, I have spent some time with a Bobcat mechanic. He said that he always uses a home made degree wheel. I so did as well. I found that the 31FI mark is actually 25 degrees BTDC. He said that they usually listen and look at the smoke. If it is too far advanced it will smoke. If it is to late...

    V1702 injector pump timing

I am assembling a rebuilt V1702. I have seen that the timing should be 25 degrees BTDC On my pully there are marks for 14 FI degrees and 31 FI degrees no 25? I had the old pump rebuilt so I should be able to just put the old shims in, but I would like to check it? It is a 743 B has any one heard...

Replacement engine for an 843 Perkins 4-154

Do you have kits for 4-154? I have a 843 with low oil pressure. Not sure what's normal, it runs fine but at idle nothing really at run about 15-20 with a gauge. Some one put a lot of new parts including a head so its worth rebuilding if I have to.

Where to look up info about my bobcat 743 and drive chain question?

Do I need to remove the whole top cover and pump assembly to relace axel seals on a 743? Its not a 743B so the hubs do not come off the axels. Any short cuts that may make this easier.
