Best Place to Buy Alternator for Bobcat

I picked mine up on Amazon for $160 at the time (1993 853)......it's listed as $199 now. Been working great for the last 50+ hours of run time.

    Control Valve Spool Seals

All I can tell you is those seals were about 1-2mm larger in inside diameter to the spools in my control valve. The "Long Chamfer" was outlined in the SM and stipulated which seal to install (lip or quad) in accordance with the depth of the bevel at the face of the valve.

    Control Valve Spool Seals

I don't disagree, but it appears there were a couple of different control valves for those model years. The SM I have on hand lists a quad ring or lip seal depending on the chamfer at the seal location. I ordered 6665089 (Lip seal) and 6646372 (Quad ring) to be safe. Searching online came up...

Replaced spool seals and now lift spool cover doesn't line up with holes - 863

That's strange for sure. The cap shouldn't misalign as the end goes through the top of the cap with the detent sleeve. It certainly doesn't appear to be out of square in the photo. Perhaps pulling the spool apart again and dry fit just the cap to be sure.

Replaced spool seals and now lift spool cover doesn't line up with holes - 863

Just did mine on my 853. You may have tried this but try rotating the housing 180 degrees. It makes no difference to the action of the spool itself and there shouldn't be any reason it's out like that. I know sliding mine back in just needed a bit of finesse to get the seal to seat itself, but...

    753 won't start

That would be my guess, or clogged. However, if you are getting diesel to the injectors after cracking them, perhaps an injector issue? Unless you only cracked the purge bolt on top of the pump?

    Changing 25 micron filter

I believe all Bobcats, and other skid steers for that matter, are self purging on startup. When I change oil, I fill the hydraulic tank, run it for 15-20 sec, then shut off and check the level (top up). I then run the lift/tilt cylinders through their travel, and do a final level check. Other...

743... how hard is this hose to change?

Agreed on the cost of hoses. I took what I needed to replace over to Princess Auto (Ontario) and they custom cut it to match the length/fittings at a fraction of the cost Bobcat charges.

    Control Valve Spool Seals

I have 4 brand new spool seals. Part # 6683274 I had bought them for my 853 but they were too large. $5 for all 4 + shipping from Hamilton Ontario Canada. Not sure what brand/model this will fit.

Bobcat 853 - front auxiliary valve only works in one direction

My 853 is a 1993 as well. S/N # ......410 I am presuming mine has the same Apitech valve. Just picked up a dozer blade (hydraulic pivot) so I'll see if mine works or not LOL Wateka....I have used your photos on several occasions so thanks for posting those!

    Hydraulic leak, what is this?

I just did the spool seals on my 853. Didn't remove the front cover......but I did remove the linkage arm on the bucket pedal, and just removed the center bolt on the tilt pedal which helped clear them enough to give me better access. The only thing that was a bit of an issue was the diesel fill...

    Hydraulic leak, what is this?

Looks to be one of the relief valves on the control valve unit (main relief it appears). It's just a couple of O-rings and a back up washer to replace. Not sure if it's a usual item to leak as it tends to be the seals on the control valves themselves (I just replaced mine).
