What is the best way to protect the bucket from rusting/corroding

When you're done using the bucket put it under a roof or shed if you have one. Other than that it's a piece of equipment, rust happens if you can't keep it inside.

John Deere 6675 hydrolic reseviour cap

Don't know Deere but I know the cap on our Bobcat can get real tight with expansion from heat if you work hydaulics real hard. When was the last time you had it off?

What I meant about being a good idea taking sending unit out was to clean it up with scotchbright to get any rust off

Yes tom, i'm sorry, that's what I meant the pickup lines. You're right William I did replace them before with no clamps, but I did not have to fish them out. When I replaced them back in '02 believe it or not that's how it was from factory, regular fuel lines witn no clamps, not a clear hose...

yeah i am replacing the fuel lines. Believe it or not regular lines do work, I did it once before in'02. It's hard to do but It will work. When I took it apart in '02 it had regular lines on it. I've never had any luck with clear line and diesel.

thanks, yeah I did manage to find them today. they are the only two grommets on the tank, one for supply line and one for return line. a steel 90 fitting fits into it and the two hoses conect to them.

Hi all. Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Bought the 743 new in '87 and its been one of the best machines we ever had. I'm not very good with computers and can't find what I need. I need part number for fuel tank grommets. Thanks.
