    Engine output shaft

I have a mid 70's Bobcat 530B that I use around my acreage. I am thinking about replacing the 20hp engine. Does anyone know what the output shaft is on the gas engine? I have a Yesterday's tractor service manual. It shows a represenation of the shaft, but doen't say if it's spline, keyed, etc...

Bobcat 530 left lift cylinder hydraulic lines..which hose goes where??

I just blew a rod end seal on the lift arm on my 530. It looks like the cylinders have wire lock rod caps. Can you give me an idea of how you disassembled them? I have never taken apart a wire lock cylinder before. Thanks Chris

    Large Attachment Plate?

I'm looking for the dimensions of the attachment plate for the larger machines. I found the standard SAE J2513 (superseeded by ISO 24410) for the smaller machines, but can't find anything for the larger machines (80-100hp). Thanks Chris

    530 Flywheel Magnets

It's a K582 engine. I pulled the magnets out of the flywheel and the cleaned the inside bore as well as the magnets themselves. Then I put them all in the same way they came out. There was a yellow mark in the middle of the magnets that faces out. I just spaced them evelnly. Put the flywheel...

    530 Flywheel Magnets

I have a Bobcat 530 skid loader with a Kohler engine. It is not charging the battery, so I checked the voltage out of the stator. It's 14 volts AC. The manual says it should be 28+ V AC. So I removed the flywheel and one of the magnets was stuck to the stator. I haven't ever delth with...

    530 Running Hot

Spark plugs were a light brown. I think I might try wrapping the muffler and pipes and then just run it. Still may clean the carb just as a maintanence item. The guy I bought it from said it sat for quite a bit between uses. Thanks guys Chris

    530 Running Hot

Thanks for the replies guys. The exhaust is what is hot. The engine cover you can lay a gloved hand on. The muffler and the pipes leading to the muffler will melt the glove on your hand. Heres what I did tonight: Checked the points gap. It was fine .020" Checked the intake/exhaust lash. It was...

    530 Running Hot

Oh, I forgot to add. I did check the air passages for leaves and debris around the engine. Its air cooled. So that's not an issue. Thanks Chris

    530 Running Hot

I have a 530 that I just bought. It has a K582 Kohler in it. It has a Nelson muffler that each cylinder feeds into and then it exits on the center top of the engine comparment with a 90 degree elbow. The muffler and pipes that go from the cylinders to the muffler cannister are really hot. Seems...

    1989 Bobcat/Clark 530

Thanks. That make me feel better. I figured it has to bog some because my 18hp 500 lb lawn tractor slows some. So a 3k lb 19hp skid has to. I took off a couple hyd hose to have remade and they had what looked like a date code. It was '78. So I would assume the machine is a '78/'79. Live and...

    1989 Bobcat/Clark 530

Thanks for the reply. Well then I may have messed up big then. I went an looked at it and it seemed in pretty good shape. Looks wise I didn't think twice when the ad said '89. Here is the link for the unit: http://desmoines.craigslist.org/grd/676983544.html It seems to run good so I gave $4k for...

    1989 Bobcat/Clark 530

I am looking at a used bobcat 530. It has the 19 hp engine. This is just for light work around my acreage. Anyone have thoughts, good or bad about these units? What should the range of cost for these be? Thanks Chris

    Should drive wheels stall?

Thanks for the reply. If I was pushing against something, should I expect the machine to spin out? Is there any other way to "test" the propel system that I can do when looking at used machines? Thanks Chris

    Should drive wheels stall?

I am looking at a used skid steer. Is a 1980's gehl 3310. It's hydastatic drive. I asked the seller if it would spin all 4 tires hoping that this would give me insight into the conditinon of the propel system. His response was that in loose stuff they would all 4 spin. Since this machine only...
