Front wheels come off the ground on 763

My old 743 does the same thing. I figured it's just a matter of physics and age. The machine is "back" heavy. Old valves and seals are naturally leaky. Pressures will seek normality. And gain it. I once parked it on a hill. Came back a few weeks later. Front wheels were so high it was sitting on...

    WOW is right!

Hiya. I used to hang out here a bit maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Tazza was always helpful when I had a question. Then came a computer crash, lost bookmarks, work heading in other directions, etc. Well my driveway washed out in a storm last week. Figured I'd better turn a couple wrenches before firing...

    743b won't start. need advice.

My impression is bad connection between battery and starter. Maybe terminal crimps at either end. Did you clean the terminals when you replaced the battery?

    743 vs 743DS

Hmmm. Good question. I searched and came up with http://www.bobcat.com/historical_specs/ which I suspect you may have already found. Only difference I could find there the 743 went into production in 1981 and the 743 DS in 1983. Then, on the specs page: 743 Pump Capacity 11 GPM Auxiliary Std...

    Used 1985 843

Greetings Knack: Before I bought my old 743 about 8 years ago, I used to watch others operate them. I just enjoyed watching them run. In all the time I did that, I don't ever recall seeing someone get in a machine and fasten the seat belt. When I got mine I jumped in, pulled the lap bar down and...

743 changing lift arm hydraulic line

Greetings all: When I changed those lines on my 743 it seems the hardest part of the job was the actual wrenching. Large connectors in a confined area. I eventually got it done though. It did require some %$*@# though. When I put the new hoses on I wrapped them both in that thick spiral plastic...

    Bobcat 873G

Greetings and welcome. You might want to check out a local radiator shop. They can usually rebuilt most existing coolers. Though I admit I have never taken equipment parts to them, I have never seen an automotive radiator they couldn't fix. Worth a shot, in my opinion. Good luck, Marty

    743 hydraulic viscosity

Thank you Taz. I kinda figured it couldn't hurt, but I didn't want to risk a pump by doing something stupid, so I figured I'd ask for opinions from those more experienced than I. And about that pinched fuel line on the 743 where you replied to my earlier post. There is in fact a channel for the...

    743 hydraulic viscosity

OK. Bobcat calls for sae 30 oil in the hydraulic tank. I know this sounds crazy, but I'm having a hard time finding 30 weight oil here. All kinds of multi viscosities and sae 40, but no 30. I might consider the 40, if we weren't heading into winter. Anyone ever run 10-30? Results? Thanks folks...

bobcat 873 looses power after 15 minutes

Don't know if this is relevant on an 873, but my old 743 had the exact same problem. Tuned out to be the routing of the fuel line. After the line came out of the top of the tank, it ran in a channel, across the top of the body. When the cab was lowered it was pinching the fuel line. The pinch...
