    Replacing hoses?

After calling around to locate a supplier that could make up a dozen replacement hydraulic hoses for me, I found a small local outfit that did a great job at a very reasonable price. All they do is make up hoses so they must know what they're doing. I had quotes as high as $60 each for an 18"...

    Melroe M371 mods

After running my M371 for some 12 hours, over two days, I noticed the left rear wheel was close to falling off. All five of the stud bolts had come half undone. The bolts were now ruined as the threads were completely mashed. There is quite a bit of discussison on this other forum from years...

I have since become aware there is a spring down inside the chain case that may be the reason the levers are not returning to center.

Blast from the past... good idea?

This picture is a freeze frame from a video running on Youtube about the history of Bobcat. I find it interesting early models of certain Bobcats had this 4th wheel on the back to prevent the machine from tipping backwards. Looks like a viable option that could be custom made for the smaller...

    Melroe M371 mods

Not sure if this is an issue with all M371's or even with other older Melroe models. The drive levers do not fully return to the center neutral position on their own. They need to be manually relocated or the machine will continue to move. Since there is quite a bit of play in these levers...

    Bucket Size for the M371?

What is meant by “flotation tires”? Are these them? Also, regarding inflation. Is it better to run them a bit lower for better traction?

    Bucket Size for the M371?

That's an interesting concept. Checked it out on Youtube but all the examples were for tractors where they filled the rear tires 75% with washer fluid or some other liquid. The idea being to offset the weight of the bucket way up front. Not sure this will do me any good. I need to...

    Bucket Size for the M371?

Appreciate the replies... and the history. This model does seem to have a low tipping threshold especially going up an inclide. When I first got it running, I made the mistake of going up a slight hill in my yard without the bucket. I nearly flipped backwards. Lesson learned :(. I have some...

    Melroe M371 mods

As I mentioned above, it is not neessary to have the M371 running to lower the arms. In my opinion, this is a safety issue that was no doubt addressed in later designs. I made a simple way to protect myself when the arms are raised for cleaning or maintenance using a section of PVC pipe. I...
