Try flushing it by running it with diesel in the oil , these are sludgey motors , that pickup tube gets blocked .

You can bypass the steel one with a flexible one . Some of the steel ones can't be removed . had that same thing on my 453 , my 843 has one routed around the front of the motor .

Haven't seen that yet , could use one though . Mine has a wire too lol.

Maybe the rental place has a stump bucket , might work good for a utility trench ? The titan ones $700 plus as everything is more expensive lately

I used a large sledge hammer to break the bead . Wheel bearing grease to seal the bead on a tubeless one . Not as bad as it looks .

I agree with Tazza , these are a little underpowered . Wouldn't be to hard to add a small eBay turbo , they seem to run a little rich anyways . If its not puking light colored smoke out of the tailpipe , might have some life in it .

Filter could have caught something, like $80 for one .
