    Scat Trak 1500D project

The machine is back up and running like a dream! Still have to replace the sticky operating cable which I'll do this week. I'm also on the hunt for replacement tires. Which is the best traction tire other than the R4 in soft conditions? I'm looking for something that wears better on the hard...

    Scat Trak 1500D project

Discovered the bearings were rolling smooth. Just had to reseat the tapered bearings. It appears the previous owner forgot to put washers back on when he replaced chains and this allowed the bearings to move back away from each other enough to give the wheel a little more slop then desired. I...

    Scat Trak 1500D project

Yes, hoping to have mine up and going by next weekend. Took off the other half of the hydrostat and same story Also decided to tackle the front wheel bearings. Now I just need to figure out how to get this apart. I read where some people leave it on the machine and use floor jacks to get the...

    Scat Trak 1500D project

Cheaply yes. Timely, not so much :) I'm hoping to have it up and going in a couple weeks. I have the projects building up which need it.

    Log Splitter Types

I haven't done it yet, but I bought an older Brave Hor/Vert 24Ton splitter that has an 8hp Briggs that I've been using. I'm going to modify it to work with some pallet forks and I'll be able to use it a variety of ways since I am terrible at making decisio: -use it as originally intended but...

    Scat Trak 1500D project

I bought this machine at the beginning of the year for $3500 from an auction where I bought it sight unseen from 7hrs away. There was a video that showed it operating and the issues noted were weak drive and some hydraulic leaks. It runs great with 2600hrs on a V2203 Turbo Kubota. I picked it up...

Scat Trak 1500D location of Vickers hydrostat model code?

Wondering where the model # is located on the hydrostat? Could it be on the bottom side? I couldn't see anything on the sides or top starting with TA- like I was expecting to find. I see a 23F990KCT1 stamped on the top of the back flange next to the u-joint. Thanks

Wanted Scat Trak 1500D parts: quick attach, pump, tilt cylinder, etc

I picked up a Scat Trak over the weekend and the previous owners didn't properly grease the quick attach. There are plates welded and quick fixes and overall the quick attach is shot. The levers are stuck also because they weren't greased properly. The left tilt cylinder is bent and disconnected...

Bobcat 642 runs and operates great, but noisy drive motor.

Got the bolt out, Yay! The new seal is on and the axle is back in. Now I need to modify the washer so I can get rid of about .015" of in-and-out play. Service manual says up to .010" of play is satisfactory.

Bobcat 642 runs and operates great, but noisy drive motor.

Thanks for the quick reply! No on the bolt, I just saw your info on it today and haven't tried again yet. I spent 2hrs trying to get that darn bolt loose Saturday and then gave up and started reassembling everything again because I was thinking I might trailer it over to someone who could get...

Bobcat 642 runs and operates great, but noisy drive motor.

When I operate the left stick, that side has as much power as the right, but it is a noisy squealing sound. I know some of these machines just have noisy hydrostats, but mine is just noisy on one side. But like I said, it drives great with good power. On a side note, I just checked my chain case...
