Hi Oldmachinist, Thanks for your reply. I could not see how to take the center chaincase cover off so I took the front chaincase cover off today and stuck a camera in there and took some photos. You were absolutely correct the brake disc looks damaged. How do I put up a picture on here?

Hi Tazza, & all At long last I found the time to remove the drive motor. OMG what a complete pig, turns out it is the old type with a tapered shaft so unfortunately it was not a case of four bolts and slide out! I had to undo the joining link & remove the front chain then undo the four bolts on...
