HI all, I'm new to this forum and am going through an 853 that is new to me. I figured I'd ask this to see what the usual suspects are before I go with my guess. The machine starts great and will run well at any setting while driving around. But once the machine is under load, whether digging into a pile or pushing dirt it bogs down for a few seconds, if the load is kept up it will stall. If I sit back it will come back up to speed, but again once a load is put on it bogs down. My guess is that it may be the fuel filter or bad fuel, since it has sat for a while without a good days work. But I figured I'd ask since I have this valuble resource in the knowledge we have in this forum. Thanks g +

Does the engine smoke when your pushing hard? or when its just driving around?, or is it burning nice and clean? Should be clean and clear unless its under a real heavy load.
If it is smoking bad you could have many possible problems the simplest of which is air filters.
If its clean most likely culprit is the fuel filter.
When your pushing hard don't shove the steering levers all the way forward as this is like shifting into high gear. If you are just pushing the steering lever 25% of the way forward or less, it shoulds spin the tires b4 stalling the engine if the engine power is about what it should be. Also be sure to set the engine throttle up to 75% or more to get good power, it will stall easy if you leave the rpm to low.

If its a new machine to you it would be a good idea to change all the filters any way. A clogged air filter will make it spew out black smoke.
