Do we have any RC-100 owners or operators on here? What about FECON Bull Hog or Loftness TimerAx? I've been thinking of purchasing a RC-100 with either the BullHog or TimberAx and starting a part-time land clearing business. If anyone has any advice and/or personal experience with these products I'd love to hear it. Both the bad & the good of each.

We take care of many ASV's that are in the clearing business. This link is a great story on undercarrage maintenance.

On the RC100's running FECON cutters here in our area (Southwest Colorado), we estmate cost per hr to be apx $10.00 on undercarrage maint. Keep in mind - we have lots of rocks. But this machine is one of the best for brush / tree clearing. Also, You will want to install a hydraulic temp gauge to keep a close eye on hyd oil temp. i have a 06 rc-100 with a fae head, i looked at loftness and fecon but i was more impressed with fae's finer end product. my next choice would have been the fecon. i clear land with my machine full time so warranty back up was very important and fae stands behind heir warranty like no other. i have not had any problems with my fae except for one o-ring had a nick in it. the fae has a 45 degree push bar that bunches your material to the middle and you can control tree felling. i have a friend in south carolina who has the same setup except he has the fecon head and he swears by it. i think the fecon has a staight bar but it is heavy duty. as far as the loftness i dont know alot about them, they seem to work well by the videos i have watched online, but the push bar i did not like. good luck man

I have Loftness and Fecon and prefer the Loftness by far. I am a dealer and the Fecon is just not the fit and finish of the Loftness. The Loftness feel better balanced on the RC-100 and I like the finish chip better. I have 10 Loftness units and 4 Fecon units and my customers prefer the Loftness by far. I have FAE on a Rayco C140 and love it too. But for my money on an RC-100 I go with the Loftness. Maka

I was just wandering how much it cost per hour to run a fecon or a fae cutter head per hour. I have a rc85 that I am looking at putting some sort of cutter on. I currently have a brushwolf rotory cutter on it but it can't create a fine enough end product. So time to get something better.
