The other day running my 853 (isuzu motor) it had a loss of power, then heard a pop after that it died. let it sit for a bit then it reved up but oil is now running out behind the harmonic balancer. Is this commin? Do I need to pull the engine or is that somthing that can be done in the machine?

Hello, can you see a hole anywhere in the front timing case or in the block right behind the mount area?.. Sounds like you might have spun #1 rod bearing to which it finally broke the rod and inserted it through side of block. If this is the case, you will need alot of parts, trust me! I have dealt with the 4JB1 engine and their failures many times.

The gauge says 951hr. But your guess is as good as mine. The motor isn't knocking or making a bunch of noise.
John, what baffles me is that pop and loss of power. I would take that balancer off and explore a little. I had a 4JB1 (isusu) that lost power, sqeaked and proceeded to eat the #4 crank rod journal so a new crankshaft and rod resizing was in order. I would examine this very carefully hoping not to csuse anymore damage if any. Best of luck to you!
