L555 New Style SS-QA

Hi everyone, i have an issue. I have recently purchased an earlier New Holland L555 skid loader (2400 hrs) with the early New Holland style QA plate & bucket. I did a few searches on the web, but couldn't find any in expensive new style QA plates for this machine. Messick's (E-town & Carlisle) is my local dealer. After searching the New Holland parts catalog and finding my part, i called them with the New Holland PN. Unfortunately, they are telling me that there was a cheaper New Holland adapter plate that used to be made, but that that is obsolete. They said they can still get the new style New Holland QA plate, but they want $2300 for it (which is about half of what i paid for the loader). I have seen other members on this forum who have purchased a new style QA mounting plate for their L555 allegedly for around $700 - $800 range, but i have not found out what brand they purchased. Can anyone direct me to an after market vender that makes a new style QA plate for my L555? Thanks in advance for the advice and guidance. - ben

Ouch.....
If you don't plan on renting attachments, i wouldn't be too worried. If you get say an auger drive, build an adaptor plate to suit your machine. If you are the only one using the attachment, there is no real need to update your QA.

Tazza, thanks for moving my post to the correct section, sorry for the mispost. The reason i want to do the SS-QA update on my L555 is mainly to use a root grapple around my property. I would also like the ability to use the new style SS-QA accessories that i have for my Kubota L3940 on my L555 (smooth bucket, toothed bucket, pallet forks). If anyone can help guide my search to a vendor who provides an after market new style SS-QA mounting plate for my L555 it would be much appreciated. If no one makes it, then i guess ill begin the search for a different machine. Thanks for your help. - ben

Yep, i get your point about the attachemnts. If you juat had one machine it would be fine, but you don't. Hopefully a member will have some options for you.

Did you check a local machine shop. They should be able to make you one. You may want to check out tractor salvage yards for one and have it modified to fit your machine.

there are a number of attachment vendors listed on the home page here and some of their adapter plates are around 700. I did not see any specifically for your machine but they must be out there.

Also, ATI corporation (new Holland,PA) makes adapters for frontend loaders. I had called them to see if they would make one for a skidsteer. They didnt want to make anything custom....

I have a blank, with the lock pins and handles, 3" thick and flat on the back side.

mfyock ... thanks for the links. the hayspear.com guys have two options it looks like. one replacement new SS-QA front plate (prob the way id go) and an adapter. The adapter is a bit cheaper and would allow me to use the existing tooth bucket that uses the old style JD/NH QA, but i am thinking this option would reduce lift capacity (machine capacity - weight of adapter = lowered lifting capacity) and would slightly change the breakout / curl / lift capacity of my machine because its moving the picked up load forward the distance of the adapter from the original plate. any thoughts on which is a better option assuming money is not the limiting factor? thanks for the links and info, you guys (and gals) are great!!!

They are new. Basically 44" wide by 18" high by 3" thick.
There is a flat surface 5" wide by 18" high on the back to weld your pin mounts too. The back and front vertical plane are parallel to each other.
Don't for get to pay attention to this detail or you bucket may not dump to a 45 degree angle when the boom is up. Or may not roll back to a 30 degree angle when the boom is down
