9' western pro plow on my BC

So yesterday I'm thinking I should finally get around to making a mount for my plow thats been sitting around for a few years. Its a western with the power unit and cable operated joystick. I'm going to stick with the power pack unit because its there, and just not use the lift cylinder. Made a quick tach out of some 3x3 5/16” angle....I have a ton of this off commercial jobsites they use it for guard rails with wire running through it, before they get the walls up.....anyhow, made the quick tach, added some uprights to grab the plow frame and voila.....done, After reading all the posts about float and power down I'm going to add some stops for the back so I can tilt down to get weight and still have float. I can fit the power unit right tight to the quiktach and run a cable up under the door. a couple of battery quick connects like wreckers have and some wiring and I should be good. Whadya think?

Looks good. But why not connect the swing cylinders to the aux hydraulics? You just need to add a couple of hoses from where you are right now. Cheers!!

Actually after looking on egay for some parts for the plow I noticed that a good pump setups are going for some good cash.....its bye bye pump and controls. I'm gonna use the aux instead...
I'll post some more opics when I get the shim stock for the a-frame and quadrant. I might as well rebuild it all good before the winter seeing work is slow right now.

Your existing power unit most likely has built-in cross-over relief protection to prevent damage due to unforseen external loads on the plow. This is in addition to protection provided by the plow trip mechanism. If so, and you want the same protection, you should consider adding a cross-over relief valve to your hydraulics downstream of the skid's aux connectors. In addition, a skid's hydraulic flow (even at idle) is generally far in excess of that for typical truck plow hydraulic pumps. If you want angling at a reasonable speed without slamming at the end of the stroke, you should consider adding flow restrictors in your hydraulics to slow things down. Here's the diagram of what I did when adapting my Fisher truck plow to my Bobcat:

Thanx, I read on here about that and I believe I read your post about the plow. So while waiting for ups I deceided to build a set of pallet forks for the BC here are some pics.

HAHA I know how to use the search function...yea....But seriously I'm waiting on my hydro parts to come in now, and my stock to “fix/re-engineer” the plow pivots and wear points. So while waiting for ups I deceided to build a set of pallet forks for the BC here are some pics.

Almost done still need to build the headache rack on the back..I did notice I should have made the rack wider, but hey hindsight ya know
So I got my stock to fix my western plow, alot of the holes were oval'd out. so I bought some 1.5” x .375 wall .75 id. DOM tubing to make some bushings out of. I had to cut part of the a frame off to get to one of the bushings , so I just raised it up and welded it back a 1/4” higher to accomadate the bushing under neath it. I also had to cut out the top of the quadrant to basically do the same.
Had to replace some butchery that one of the prev owners did to fix tha angle cylinder, came out good and stronger than ever. I also ordered some 1” x .125 wall .75 id for a bushing on the angle cylinder. They were two different cylinders ones a 1” pin and the ohther is a 3/4” pin so a small bushing and fixed.

That looks pretty good! nice and srong. Its handy when you have the gear at home to do your own reairs. It sure saves you some cash and its done the way you wanted it.
