OK, I looked into it, there's a hole melted in the airbox - it looks like some debris fell into the engine compartment and burned and that's what caused the box to melt. I cannot find a good source to buy the airbox. This also looks like it may affect the PCV system (because coincidentally, it seemed as though there was a bit of smoke "puffing" as well). PCV reference: http://www.skidsteerforum.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=54&frmView=ShowPost&PostID=35408 Any thoughts? Am I on to something? Good source for the airbox? The air cleaner will have a sender in the hose from the inlet manifold to the air filter. It will be round with a plug on it. Its to detect when the air cleaner is dirty causing a restriction. Could there be a problem here?
I assume your local bobcat dealer would be the best place the source a new air box, if yours can not be repaired in anyway?OK, I looked into it, there's a hole melted in the airbox - it looks like some debris fell into the engine compartment and burned and that's what caused the box to melt. An air filter box will be available aftermarket. Have you tried truck spares places? I know my local guys can get them, its really not a specialised item. Even if you have to adapt something to get one to fit. It can all be done.I assume your local bobcat dealer would be the best place the source a new air box, if yours can not be repaired in anyway?
P.S. I have no idea what this airbox looks like?
