Problem started a bit ago with the hydraulics locking out when I use the bucket tilt> shut unit off and would reset - now it will reset but as soon as I hit the tilt it locks out> checked codes - 32-32 > bucket tilt actuator - so to be certain I switch the harnesses and restarted . Hitting the tilt control works and then when moving right control the alarm rings an locks hydraulics - check codes 32-37 / so I figured it was the actuator - replaced actuator - and its giving code 32-31 when I try and use the tilt function. checked all connections for continuty , everything seems Ok - any suugestions

recalibration of the actuator is required after changing one
so can I recalibrate it or does it need to be done by the dealer . So the 32 -31 code does not mean that it has a wiring fault - its just not calibrated proprely ,

there is a procedure for calibrating it yourself , I use to know it and have tried it a few times but it never did work out as there was always another problem , I have seen that it will flash a code and that ain't the really problem , I have changed quite a few actuators only to find that the controller was bad or a wiring issue , the wiring fault code could be from the controller not comunicating with the actuators , it seems to tell you what it thinks but it is always not right , I quite fooling around with them and let the dealer do it ------------- you may also need to have the controller rebooted with newer software as upgrades come out ever so often to fix gliches in the system

thanks for the reply. Seems like an electrical nightmare. Like you said changing one electricalfault leads to another one - probably poor computer software ?? thanks again . Off to the dealer I go $$$

please keep us in mind with a reply on what they found --------------- being a mechanic it really ticks me off that you buy a service manuel that ain't complete , the dealer has access to online manuels which break down each code into a sort of family tree to take you threw troubleshoting the problem and on the bottom of those sheets it states something like this effect , “this information is to be only viewed by Bobcat technicians and is not to be viewed by the end user or owner “ , I would guess they do that for 2 reasons , the most important to make more on more service and they want to keep the fly by wire technology a sercet -

sorry have not replied - took a couples of days to get the unit to the Dealer> I explained to them what I did hoping to help with the diagnosis> they called back said they were pretty sure it was the controller - $1100.00. Called back the next day - they said that didn't fix it - needed to do further testing - they called back said it probably the main computer - I haven't given the go ahead yet - $ 1400 for that - by the time I'm done will have the whole computer system replaced - probably could have scraped this machine and invested the money into a new one> electrical problems are frustrating, but with the diagnostic computer capability and diagnostic procedures that the dealer has I would of thought they should be able to figure it out !
