My husband bought himself a Bobcat 853H over the summer. We're now using it to plow snow. He's been wanting a cab enclosure for it, just basically to block the wind and keep the snow from flying into the cab. I'd like to order one for him and have found a couple decent deals. On eBay I found one for about $350 and another website for $250. My thrifty side wants to get the $250 dollar one, but they do not list his model. I emailed the guy and he wasn't any help. Do you guys know what body model would be the same as the 853H? Or if there even if one that's the same. The eBay auction lists 853, but not 853H specifically. I'm not sure how much of a different there is. The kind I'm looking at is just the vinyl looking cover with some sort of plexi glass door. Basic and simple is all we need. Any suggestions? I'd love to order this thing and surprise him with it. Thanks! Niki

The H just means that it has high flow hydraulics, otherwise identical to the 853. The cab and frame are the same so the enclosure would be also. Other models that will interchange enclosure kits would be C series or F series Models 751, 753, 763, 773, 863, 873. An enclosure listed for a G series model probably WON'T fit. If you end up getting a full enclosure, with the real glass windows, etc. the heater kit will be more model specific.

If you can get it in the budget a enclosure with a rigid door wood be best. Our snow here is now about 1' of white concrete as it rained during the storm and when you come to the pile using the bucket every now and then a chunk about 10 pounds or more will come over the back of the bucket and crash into the door. With a flexible vinyl door I don't know how it would hold up to this. No matter what kind a door keeps it out of your lap.

Thank you both so much for your advice and help.
I've seen these 'pull over' cab enclosures for about $350, and I'm guessing that having a dealer put in a glass cab with heater will be $1500 or so. How well do the cheaper ones work? Does the condensation from your breath frost over inside the cab? Thanks in advance.

my brother in law said he was quoted $3300 for cab and $1250 for the heater don't know if this included installation or not - but told him he was getting ripped off. He called Bobcat of Mandan, ND

My next Bobcat will have a complete enclosure because my search for a door is not going anywhere. I bought the plastic one and it works fine for the cab but sucks for a door. I ended up trying to plow with the door open during one of the major storms. I was quoted $1900.00 for a new door so I am busy on Craigs list looking. It's crazy but to answer your question the cover for the cab works OK but I am either going to install track windows or sell the Bobcat and but a newer model with the complete enclosure. Hope this helps. Marcello
