1986 Bobcat 643 diesel leak

Hey guys, new to skidsteers. Anyone know what I got leaking here? Photo attached...leak is coming from the part with the 3 little things there held on with phillips bolts. The only one leaking is the top one. Not sure what that is tho.

That looks to be your control valve.

Well I found the leak in the control valve and took the top spool out everything came out nicely but there were no o-rings in it and you can't get them at bobcat they're discontinued and there doesn't seem to be a kit out in the worldwide web to replace the discontinued stuff anybody know hillbilly fix for this or what have people been doing or am I just missing something? Oh I forgot to mention bobcat recommended that I take the old o-rings to a fabrication place for hydraulic stuff but like I said there are no o-rings so nothing to go off of no blueprint oh joy.

A lot of the seals are available through the Bobcat website. Run the part numbers through “Shop Parts” at the top of the parts manual page.

Yes it was at the dealership that's where I talked to them and they tried two different guys at the front desk tried and they even walked me back to the mechanics and all they could tell me was to try to get some made but like I said I have nothing to copy I'll take your advice and let you know how it turns out.

I have known many a guys that make there own O rings, by getting correct size diam O ring thickness , cut to size needed , and using super glue to make ends connect , to make the size then they need!
buying a good O ring kit, might get you close to start with to! then just trim to size and glue!

but I guess it can be an option if you cannot buy what you need!

You can also, maybe measure the size you need and contact an O ring maker and see if they can make you what you need too?

I've got a big kit of oil resistant o rings; however, the Bobcat guys said they were not "regular" o rings and had some contour and shape differences. I'm online r. now trying to sort through this and find a solution....didn't expect it to be this hard and wondering if I should just try regular o rings. I'll let you all know what works when I find the way.

Well, I've learned some things, but not too helpful yet. Here's a rundown of my latest findings: I'm dealing with a Victor control valve versus Melroe. The leak is coming from the Tilt Spring Assembly. And this Victor Control Valve is part #: 6557603 and also is recognized as D1385 in the Bobcat parts catalog. And I need two O-Rings and one Wiper Seal to fix the thing. Still haven't found them though.

if you have a GOOD hydraulic shop near you, (all the better if you have one that's been around a LONG time(as in the yrs before you machine), it will UP your odds!, as they maybe able to match things, or have contacts that can get what you need,a s being in the business a LONG time, they get yo know folks, the average person won't find or know of, and NOT all places have web sites, so, its again worth a drive if need to a GOOD shop!

SO< it might be worth taking what you can to them and asking if they maybe can MATCH things up for you

I believe the kit you need is 6512795. (Bobcat has a nice picture but not the specifics of each part.)

I have not used these places so due your research.

Other than that, like others have said, a good hydraulic shop should be able to fix you up. However, in my experience, you will probably have to take in the entire control valve so they can measure it for the proper seals.

There is a seal kit on eBay right now but it is overseas and you would have to pay the tariffs.

I'm I tried putting regular o-rings in it last night and I mean there's no way for me to get them in there I tried everything so now I'm undoing all the hoses and taking the unit completely out of the machine then I'll get it all fixed up on the bench or someone else's bench

I believe that what is supposed to be used are called Quad rings. They are almost square.

Okay I got the whole damn thing out and I use some fuel resistant o-rings I had in stock and they fit perfectly like a glove and so I think I'm good pray for me. Image provided.

If you can get an accurate measure industrial supplies like Grainger and McMaster-Carr usually have about anything you'll need. Even Amazon vendors sometimes surprise you with competitive pricing. Quad rings are also available. Some proprietary seals like a Porsche 3-4 rib IMSB flange seal will not be anywhere except the Porsche dealers

SOLVED: The bench-stock o rings I had in my kit work great so far. Very pleased.
