    Case 1825 lighting wires

Hi detzels - I believe your machine is almost the same as mine, other than you have a diesel engine with more HP. If so, my wiring is hooked up so all three lights come on at the same time - that being, the rear, and both front. I replaced my lights with some LED floods and they are awesome, and...

    newbi here 1835 bucket creep

Cylinders can leak internally past the piston, which will also allow creeping in loaders.

    Case 1818 Diesel engine

I believe you have a 1825, unless someone put a diesel in an 1818. The 1818 had a 18hp Onan gas engine, the 1825 a Kubota diesel V1100-B (I found the Kubota spec online).

1994 case 1838 groaning noise when turning

If it's anything like my Case 1818, it's just the sound of the hydraulics. It should get quieter as the oil warms up, and also higher revs helps. As you're turning, you are loading up the drive motors as they force the wheels to rotate (I believe this is where the SKID part comes from). It...

    Adjusting Axle Housing on 1825b?

wmgeorge Our chains are in an oil bath, in an enclosed chamber. Mine takes 3 liters of 10w30 per side. They have drain plugs on the bottom, and fill plugs on the sides of each one. I believe the 1818 and the 1825 were basically the same machine, the 1818 had a 18hp gas Onan engine, the 1825 had...

    Adjusting Axle Housing on 1825b?

If your 1825 is like my 1818 (I think it is), then you have to do what wmgeorge says. The only thing is, I don't think we can see our chains at all, which is why they say back the bolt off a bit. I set mine up over a year ago, and have run it about 100 hrs, and haven't had any issues yet. I...

743 Smokes at start up BAD!!!!!

FWIW, I work at a Massey dealer, and we have a new compact tractor that is smoking some, and it's oil. I've often wondered if you can tell on a diesel if it's burning oil from the smell of the exhaust, and you can. It smells almost like a gas engine when it's burning oil - a definite oil smell...

    1816B adjustment help

Sounds like the same setup as on my 1818, but sorry I don't have any manuals for mine (though I'd like to have either or both owner's and shop manuals). Make sure that the lever travel at the pumps are the same side-to-side, when you move your control levers forward/back. A loose belt will slip...

    642B Blown Motor Question

crash The cam-in-aluminum-head design has been around a long time, and built properly, it works well. Motorcycles used them for a long time. PROPER maintenance goes a long way to keeping things running a lot of hours, as they certainly aren't forgiving to poor/dirty oil. It seems that it started...

    My new ride..an old 720

Paul Are you checking your compression with the throttle wide open? Just wondering, as this is the way you are supposed to check it. You didn't make mention of it, so I thought I would ask. I work at a tractor shop, that also used to sell Thomas skid steers. The shop foreman, who has been there...

Sure fire way to remove frozen rusted pins

When I tried to remove the pins on my Case 1818 version of a quick attach, I found out just how hard pins can rust into place. I sprayed them with penetrating fluid (to death), beat on them, used an air chisel with a pushing pin, used a torch for heat, beat some more, added a generous supply of...

    snowblower

Not the same thing as you may be thinking, but I have a 4' Lucknow on my little 1818. It used to be on the back of my Kubota, though with some modifying, like adding a 13hp engine and a large driven pulley, I mounted it on the front of my skid steer. It works as good or better then when it was...

    Case 1816 Drive Belt replacement

I'd like to help, but my 1818 is a different beast altogether. I work with small engines, I can't imagine they designed it so the engine has to come out just for a belt, however I could be wrong.

    1818 Case

Kirk Somewhere on my machine it's written that the chaincase gets 3 liters (quarts are close enogh) of 10w-30 oil per side. The drain plug is on the bottom of each side, not readily obvious - allen-headed plugs, if I remember. Fill plugs are on the side, between the wheels. Check the chain...
