    Bobcat S185 Code 41-09

It also showed code 5-14 approximately 50 hours when the hydraulic fluid was low, but no problems since. ...

    Bobcat S185 Code 41-09

Today, my pedals that control the loader arms became extremely stiff and would not return to position. The machine temperature also rose, but then seemed to stabilize. I shut the machine down and couldn't find anything obviously wrong. There is hydraulic fluid in the machine. It showed code...

    Rental or skid steer insurance

If you have a skid steer you should have liability insurance in the first place...call and see if they cover renting the equipment. Even if this machine is going to a “friend”, have a signed contract in place. There's no sense in losing a friend over damage or loss. If you don't have...

    68" Low Profile bucket capacity

Ken, Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to buy one of Bobcat's snow/bulk material buckets. I'm sure they aren't too expensive and one size bucket holds 26.8 cubic feet, just .2 under a yard. That will allow me to keep my inventory much tighter than trying to estimate two odd size bucket...

    68" Low Profile bucket capacity

I was able to find the bucket capacity on Bobcat's website, but I'm looking for the “heaped capacity”, which they didn't list. I'm selling mulch this year, and I'm trying to keep my inventory close...does anyone know what the approximate heaped capacity is of the bucket with mulch in it...

    S185 Power Loss

On average, how often do you find the fuel filter needs to be changed? It hasn't been done since its last service at about 75 hours. I'm pushing 225 hours now. I don't need the machine again until Friday. Is there someplace that sells a comparable filter other than the dealer?

    S185 Power Loss

I was grinding stumps today and my machine would really bog down. The RPM's were all over the place, especially when grinding a stump. While grinding, the machine even shut off several times, when it normally wouldn't. Even when the auxillary hydraulics were off the machine was losing power...

    Best way to remove concrete?

My father in law is a concrete contractor, and used to break up all his driveways with a breaker. He came across a challenge when he began doing state owned homes that housed handicapped people. Most were sensitive to either noise and/or dust. Debris around these sites were an issue. He...

    Brush Cutters

I want to expand my services for this spring/summer. I rented an Ammbusher? brush cutter several times last year, but was not very impressed with it, but the price was right. There are many out there and wanted some input on the advantages/disadvantages of different models. I was looking hard...

    Snow Pushers and chains

This is the first year that I have really got into snow removal. With several large storms this year, I did a lot of loading and plowing subcontracting. I currently have been using a 7' hydraulic Bobcat plow. With some of the larger parking lots I did, they sent backhoes with snow pushers to...

    Wow...you wouldn't believe what happened...

...but I will tell you anyway. I was doing a small excavation job in a low lying residential area. The weather forecast was calling for “scattered thunderstorms 30%”. Anyway, you can see where this is going...That evening, what they described as a “supercell thunderstorm” brought approx. 6”...

    Contracts

Does anyone have a copy of a contract they would be willing to share, or know the whereabouts of a contract on the web? I am beginning to get into larger jobs where a contract is necessary. So far, I have been fortunate and have been getting paid for all my work w/o a contract, but I think...

    Bobcat s185

I have a new s185... 65 hours on it. No problems. Good all around machine, not too big, not too small. I have what was the gold package...air, enclosed cab, suspension seat, power bob tach.

    Stump Grinder

I have the Bobcat model SG60. It works fine for me. I don't grind stumps all the time, and that's why I didn't buy a HI-flow machine. The stump grinder is a real money maker in between larger jobs.
