    retread aircraft tires

Any of you guys ever run the Aircraft retreads on your machines? Toby Sexton and some other Florida company have them and I was wondering how well they perform. Thanks Jpoe

adding ac to 2007 bobcat s-185

When I was considering buying a machine without air and installing it myself, I ran across a company that made aftermarket roof air conditioners. Sorry I no longer have the info but you may be able to find them online like I did. It would save a lot of work since the unit sat on the roof and the...

    First post - newbie questions.

Skid steers are very versatile machines however they do have some drawbacks. The machine will tear up your grass and make ruts if the ground is soft. They have no suspension so traction in mud or soft soil can be a problem and tracks can be a pain if you need to also run on a hard surface that...

    12 X 16.5 tires

Thanks for your input! I mainly use this machine on my farm with a brush mulcher head and plow the snow in winter. I seldom use the bucker to grade or level though I do load & move dirt with it. I don't think the change in height will effect me. When I die the next guy may be looking for new...

    12 X 16.5 tires

I purposely tried to avoid the make of my machine so that the moderator would not stick it into the Mustang column where it got no responses the last time I asked the question. I realize that 95% of the guys on this forum run Bobcats and I don't hold that against them. I value their input and...

    12 X 16.5 tires

Machine: Mustang 2109 10,500 curb weight + 3900 lbs. tipping load divided by 2 = 1,950 + 1/2 of machine weight (5,250lbs.) = 7,200 lb. load carrying capacity per tire needed. I found 15 X 19.5 tires with a load capacity of 9,700 lbs. at 65 PSI air pressure and they can be deflated to 35 PSI if...

    12 X 16.5 tires

My skid steer weighs 10,500 lbs. However, I have an implement that weighs 2,500 lbs. bringing this beast up to 13,000 pounds working weight.I have Airless tires so the load rating is not marked and I think it is inconsequential since I am asking about pneumatic tires, a totally different animal...

    12 X 16.5 tires

The 14 X17.5 rims are 8 lug 8 Inch bolt pattern with a 6 inch center hole and a 5/8 stud. I think that is typical of 12 X 16.5 rim. so getting the wheels and tire to fit is not the issue. Will they support the machine is the question.

    12 X 16.5 tires

Can I put 12 X 16.5 tires with 12 plys and 6000 lb. load rating on a machine that came with 14 X 17.5 tires? WITH AN EXPLINATION PLEASE THANKS

    Mustang 2109 tire question

Tire Question: I have a Mustang 2109 10,500 lbs. without any attachments. I would like to go from a 14 X17.5 tires to a 12 X 16.5 tires so that I can run a lighter steel track than what a 14 X 17.5 track would weigh. Anyone dropped down to that size on a heavy machine? The tire dealer hear has...

    Bobcat gossip

There have been great improvements in gas engine design with fuel economy, horse power & torque in recent years. With diesel prices higher than gas, it may be a good move. If you run the numbers on purchasing a new truck; Dodge ram with diesel option. The diesel option is $7,000. dollars and at...

    1980 IH 4140 SkidLoader

If the machine has been sitting for a while you need to change the engine oil since condensation will put water into the oil. This is a MUST and you will then have a time date for when the oil was last changed. Drain some of the hydraulic oil and see if it is milky or has water in it, than...

    Prowler Tires & Tracks

If you watch the McLaren video on their airless tires you see them running over a brick and the tire flexes. They advertise a “cushion” ride with the tires and claim they have great traction in dirt and snow. I ordered the 14 X 17.5 tires and I was very specific about wanting the “dirt-Cushion”...

    tire foam/fill???

http://www.tracksandtires.com/tire-shield-flat-proofing.html This place has a product that they claim works. Ask for a gaurantee and if they don't have one, fill your tires with “Slime”. You can get slime at WalMart. It will seal small leaks but not the large ones. Joe

    Shop airlines

When I owned a machine shop, water in the lines was a problem we solved by coiling a copper line inside of an old refrigerator. This was used for two purposes: the freezer was used to cool parts that were to be pressed into a heated part and the cooler portion was used to cool the air line...
