I got engine pulled- scrapped all the wells clean of crude/grease. Now I want to get it up on trailer to go power wash everything. Can I winch it up the ramp and onto trailer? Trailer will be right up to rear wheels. I wish the case (1816) had a by-pass, but I sure don't see one? Otherwise thought about buying two small axles and build a frame/dolly to roll it. Any guys ever winch up onto trailer with wheels locked? getting back off might be a challenge as it is going back into garage. Id have to push very slow into garage with truck?

How difficut is it to unhook the drives? Is it hyd drive? unhook oil lines or take off drive chains.

thanks- it is hydro drive then chains. The chains are in narrow tunnels so hard to get at. By what I can see I haven't seen any master links yet I could jack it up and take wheels off then take the 4 bolts out to pull axles- get chain off that way then re-install everything except chains.. But then 2 hours later I'd have to repeat to get chains on. Guess that is one way.. But was hoping to figure out a alternative or if it had a bypass- but don't appear so. I'm contemplating buying two axles for a trailer and extending the frame I put on it out past front and rear just so could lower skid on it then winch it on trailer riding on trailer axles/wheels? Just use long frame directly on the axles (no springs). This might be handy down the road if ever needed to winch again. Their is a tandem boat trailer posted here for 250- chop it up and make one from that maybe?
