I don't know what they are made of, but have you tried taking them to someone that does re-bonding of clutch or brake material for cars/trucks?
Just a thought.
How bad is the dealer price on these items? and are they still available?

I just got 4 brand new old stock via eBay.com from the USA to Australia. They are still there as of today, I think they were around $49US each.
