It all started one day when the alternator went out on our 753 skiddster and we changed it. Then the starter went out not long after that. Then we had to replace the ignition switch. Went through another starter and it melted the negative side of battery cable. So then we got another starter and after starting it maybe two times it burned the starter up. Oh and the alternator we got was a little higher output Napa Auto Parts said, and it would not matter. When we turn the key we hear the click, click and thats it. We don't know what's going on.

somewhere you are pulling to many amps(could be miswired ,bad harness?) and when you put on a higher output alternator it made it worse. You need like a battery load tester and start looking for high load that should not be there. sometimes a bad ground can do odd things too, so make sure the grounding points are clean. check your output voltage on the alt.( around 14.5 volts) but I doubt that is your problem but you never know.
