I want to attach a Ramsey 8000 lb winch to the bucket of my 843 and pull an old farm wagon out of the woods. I was planning on having the brake on and engine off. Any harm with the hydraulic drive motors?

It's not the motors I'd worry about. You'll be putting all the force on the brake and hydraulic cylinders/control valve. I've had to pull my stuck machine out by the bucket before and with enough force the lift arms will go up some. All that fluid pressure has to go somewhere.
If I was going to winch from the bucket I think I'd be in the seat with it running and pull back on the sticks some.

Maybe its better to winch from the back of my pickup??
