Mine hasnt had any problems but i want to replace it as a precaution as well as the water pump and idler and tensioner. Would these would be the correct kit? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-3...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c64499d22

or are none of these what i need? I see there are some XUD9A, XUD9TE etc. what is the correct engine in the bobcat 751?

Sorry, i forgot this forum requires using html editing
I fixed your links.

I can't tell you which kit you need. Two of the kits have the same part number. I'll bet the only difference is the water pump. Since these are kits for road vehicles neither kit may have the right pump.

Thank you! I guess i could always go to the bobcat dealer but i am pretty positive i can get them much cheaper on here. I am not even sure of the year of my bobcat but im sure since they only used that motor for 2 years in the bobcat they were the same motor.

If they are showing pictures of the actual items, they don't look right to me.
When i got mine, it was slightly wrong and i needed to cut some metal off a shim that was in the way, it still worked great.
You could go to the dealer, but you will pay a lot more. If you send the people on ebay the engine number, thay may help them identify what kit will suit?

Ok thanks! Where is the engine number located? Haha or should i just look around for it?

Very good question... I'd suspect around the injector pump, but i honestly don't know....
looking at the posts ,i must admit i just might be wrong it seem as though there may still a few left that still run.if so my apologies for the dissrespect, to the puko. please change my mind ? please post hrs run and money put in, as in cams pumps etc. my current outlook is if it runs dump it now;;; do not mean to be dissrespectful but my experaince with these engs . (15 yrs at a dealership turning wrenches on bobcats) has led me to believe its not cost effective to repair, putting two grand into an eng that runs 800 hrs makes no sense. i am now going to get off my high horse and let the comments come.

Mine has 2600 hours, looks like it may have had a head gasket replaced at some point as i see copper spray traces on block. It runs great in my opinion, smokes under load a little, requires glow plugs to start in warm weather but i think timing belt may have stretched or skipped a tooth possibly. It has plenty of power, ive only put 100 hours on it or so myself, both drive motors needed to be rebuilt when i got it, looks to be original hydrostatic pump, not sure about hydraulic pump. I used to operate 753s regularly a few years ago, id say its right on par for power with them, alot quieter, revs slower, smokes a little more. I replaced every ounce of fluid and filter everywhere in the machine when i first got it.

Shawn - You can try rotating the pump a little to see if you can get it to start and run a little better. It should allow for a little rotation to adjust injection timing. I remember another member doing this and it made quite a difference.
The one i owned was pretty good. All i ever had to do was the timing belt and idlers. It ran smooth as and heaps of power. It was a littel harder to start, i don't believe the starter is as powerful as it should be. Thankfully i never had any issues with the engine, parts are really expensive. If you keep up to date on servicing, it should keep on going well. Kubota are better for starting and parts, but a conversion will cost you a bundle.

I will have to take a good look at the engine bay next time im outside, when you say rotate the pump, you can unbolt it and turn it, like a distributor? I didnt know that.

Shawn, I have 2300 hrs on my Peugeot. I understand there is an add-on fuel filter for them; might have prevented my pump going bad. Yes, the injector pump can be rotated to change the timing. Scribe a line on the pump and on the mounting flange before you start. Loosen the bolts on the pump and grab it with some large water-pump pliers. I forget which rotation direction advances the timing, but you only want to move it a slight bit. I think something like less than 1/16 of an inch (looking at the scribe lines) at a time. The guy who showed me how moved it with the engine running, but I don't try that; I'm afraid it'll slip. I loosen, adjust, retighten, then start it and see how it sounds and how easily it starts. :-) ---Bobbie G.
