Where is the control valve on a 843 Bobcat?

And how much of a job is it to replace? I bought this machine after the guy put a new pump in it and I rebuilt the boom cylinders, but they still won't go up as they should. If anyone want to buy this machine I'll let it go for $7000 and include a FREE set of forks. I also found a hydraulics shop that said tHey will rebuild the control valve for as little as $110. 843 control valve is underneath the fuel tank on the right side of the machine. Terrible PITA to even touch it. If the valve itself has damage affecting the operation, its not rebuildable. But you might only have a load check valve or circuit relief valve problem. These are easier to replace than the entire valve assembly. You might get lucky. What are the symptoms?

Okay, since you seem desperate, and if you keep your disparaging remarks about my choice in skid steers to a minimum, lets see if we can help you. Is this something that just suddenly happened or did it deteriorate over time? It sounds like your relief valve might be stuck partially open or is very badly adjusted. Have you checked your gear pump hydraulic pressure? Pretty simple to do, you need about a 3000 psi pressure gauge connected a QD that will plug into one of your aux hydraulic ports. Plug it in, and actuate your aux hydraulics with the engine at a fast idle. See what pressure you get on the gauge. It should be something north of 2000 psi. Maybe someone else knows the exact number. The Bobcat historic data page looks to be down right now. Check it and report back. - SR

I bought the machine as it is, minus the cylinder kits we installed. As I said, if it sits overnight it will lift, but not much or fof very long. I'll work on finding out the pressure number.

Just how little does it lift? Is there any whistling sounds as it tries to lift but can't?
I repaired a mates machine that he rebuild from pieces. He hooked up a few hoses wrong, after fixing that, it was spot on.
Does it have a double gear pump?
Have you checked the hydraulic pressure, as there is a new pump, it could be a bad relief not allowing it to get to pressure.
