Where does Mustang Stamp the Year

Just wondering if anyone knows where the year of the machine is stamped. I can easily find the model plate and serial number, but can't find the actual stamped year. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think Mustang does a standard year description. If you look at your serial number, the first 2 numbers should be the year model. That is what I use to order parts, and my distrbutor tells me that is correct. Exmaple... My serial number is SF99 (followed by more alpha numeric digits). My model is a 1999 Mustang. K9
