Hi All I am just about to change the axle seals on my little 453, one front side is leaking. There is no movement in the axle from up to down or side to side but does move a good 3-4mm in and out. Does this indicate I need to change wheel bearings too? Or is that in to out movement normal? thanks.

There should be no end play at all, the bearings are worn. For small amounts of wear, you can put the washers that sit on the end of the axles in a lathe and cut a recess that matches the end play to take this play up.

Thanks Tazza, I was thinking that myself but wasn't 100% certain. Hopefully it wont be a big job to do.
