Hello,,,, How much end play is acceptable? Second opinion.... I have done axle bearings on three machines..(642b,863,753) Got a pretty good handle on the ins and outs of replacing.. But the previous bearing were bad enough that I didn't need to be an ASE mechanic to figure out they were bad. This new machine is borderline.. I can't decide if it is worth doing them. By my measurements they have about .015"--.020" end play on all axles.. It is noticeable when to push on them.. I read a few post where they say the manual call for .010" or less. I don't use this machine a lot.. But am refurbishing it ,,Freshening it up.... Chain case looks clean, seals don't appear to be leaking.. Work + $$$$ has me second guessing if I should replace them.. My buddy says leave them alone.. I hate having a machine that needs repairs. But he is correct they will probably last a long time no more than I use it. I broke a rule of mine and bought a machine that had steel tracks on it.. Im not a big fan of these.. They are very hard on drive lines. I just hate to paint it then tear it apart in a few years. We have some smart guys on here... What do you think? Aaron

I was told there should be no end play, i just measure the float, and skim that amount off the washer inside the chain case to take that play out.
