What is this a picture of on my 853? It is leaking where the vertical rod that has a spring around it goes in to the top. Can someone let me know what this is called and how I might fix it. I am sorry I do not know what this is as the bobcat 853 is all new to me. Thank you Greg photo DSCN0020_zpsyfqmgltw.jpg

Is there another on the other side that looks like a mirror image? The only thing I can think of would be for the drive control, and there would be two of them connected to the sticks.
I don't have a book for the 853, but the architecture was fairly similar across the spectrum, hopefully someone will be along that has the same machine and can give a part number.
Failing that, if you can get the brackets off, it should have a fairly common seal that might have a part number on it that a bearing house can match.

this my friend is a servo assist hydrostat. pintle shaft..,. there are seals avail. I would try a reseal,(note if it does not work) spend the money and get the update kit that will solve leakage and remove some of that jerkiness.. orginal componets were notiours for leaks. and instant response. kit comes with featherd glands to smooth it out out as well as new seal surface. not cheap but problem solved..

Does anyone have a parts diagram for this and also a procedure how to replace the seal. I have looked in my Service Manual multiple times and cannot find any info. I also looked at the Parts Diagrams on the Bobcat site and can't find anything. Thank you Greg
