I picked up an 8 Mile Lake kit off Amazon, and it acts like it has no check valve. Pressure gauge just bounces up and down when cranking engine with no pressure held. Looking for a recommendation on a tester someone has used on a v1702

I use a tester made by me. Each compression measuring tester will work as long as there is a suitable range gauge, a one-way valve and a pressure release button after measurement. The only specific is the adapter that is placed in place of the injector or in place of the glow plug.

I think mine uses a shrader valve to hold the pressure, could you check or adapt yours to have one to make it work?

Tazza is on to something. there should be a shrader valve in the hose somewhere. It is usually screwed into the end that attaches to the engine. remove it and see if the spring is broke. They are different than the ones that are used for tires. Yes, I tire shrader valve will work, but your pressures will read a little low. If the kit didnt come with spares, you can find them online or run down a tool truck.
