What engine can I put in my 853

Hi folks. I just picked up an 853. I think it is a 95 model, but not sure. (can anyone here tell from the serial #). It has the Isuzu 4JB1 diesel. It has a broken connecting rod. I am going to have to pull it and rebuild it, but I was wondering if I had any other options as far as going back with another type of engine like maybe a Kubota. I don't really want to have to re-engineer everything else just to get it to fit, that would defeat the purpose. Thanks

Just went through the same issue. I think the best way to repair this is to stick with the 4jb1 engine I bought a complete engine rebuild kit from eBay [china] for just over $800. I have not put a lot of hours on it yet but the machine runs great
