What are these for?

Hi guys, Just in front of the Rops, there are 2 balls mounted on brackets, bolted to the fenders. They look like 2 5/16 trailer hitch balls bolted to heavy angle iron. They look like a factory item. Just curious what they are for. Thanks -Mike

The machine in question is a 1985 743, still trying to figure out the picture thing

They are for mounting the older style backhoe attachment to the bobcat. I have them one my 743 for the 909 backhoe.

Ohh okay! does the backhoe mount to the loader arms or the front of the machine?

The backhoe latches to the loader arms just like a bucket or any other attachment and then it secures to the body of the machine with the ball mounts to keep it from being able to tilt forward.
