Hi to all, I am looking for advice and or ideas on putting in an exhaust fan system for the metal shop. I have looked a bit at some of the stuff Grainger has but haven't decided on anything yet. Welding is a part time thing in the shop but do an occasional big project. Is a through the wall set-up adequate, or should I also ad a hood and fan set-up over the welding table. I am trying to keep it simple and limit the cost as much as possible. Thanks, John

to be really effective a through the wall one will have to be big and will take most of your heat out also in the winter, even when they are not running the louvers seldom close very tight. If you can get the work to it a smoke sucker fan with flexible duct on a swivel arm will do a good job with less heat loss although a lot of weldors don't like them because you have to reposition a lot on larger work.

Hi Jerry, Thanks for the tip. With the weather getting warmer I will probably procrastinate until next fall but in the meantime I will still be thinking towards a good solution. John
