trying to replace seal kit in tilt cylinder, I can't figure out how to remove the piston rod guide. usually they have ring with a screw to hold in place, or other versions will have a snap ring on the outside.

The cylinder cap just unscrews. You need a spanner wrench that will go in the two holes shown in the photo. Sometimes these caps are very hard to get off. They are an aluminum alloy and if the pins on your wrench are too small they will deform the holes.

Try not to use a pipe wrench. It will chew up the cap.
