i used a low hour 1995 753 today. it's the first time i've used a skid since i bought my 643. i can't believe how much smoother it operates. is it just because it's newer? were the 80s model bobcats smoother in their day and get worn out? my 643 doesn't even have 1000 hours on it. is there a way to get my 643 to feel that good?

Do I see a For Sale sign coming your way?
hell no, it's not a car or something that needs to be smooth. it still does the same task with the same efficiency, i just thought bobcats didnt change that much in that short time span. mine is an 87 so thats 7 years.

The engine is more powerful and the steering levers have shock absorbers. I think the main bit is the shockies, they take more pressure to operate, but they tend to feel very smooth.
I liked aspects of my S150 over my 743 and some of the 743 things i liked better than the S150. Over all, for simplicity, the older ones are spot on. For power and comfort, the newer ones win.

well thats my eventual path, i bought a cheapie to see if i could stir up some business for it, and if i can justify i'll buy new. the new m series are sexy as hell. they are discontinuing s150 and up and replacing them with the new ones which are like cadillacs haha.

I too noticed this going from a 743 to an 873. Smooooth and tons of power. I ran a T770 at my part time clean up job last summer, it was unreal compared to my 743 which was my current skid. In one day I would be loading whole cars in a roll off dumpster with the 770, later that day I'd be at a customers with my 743 moving dirt. The 770 had hand/foot controls that required more force then the 743..lol.
