It's now imageshack.us but the .com url will get you there OK. I've used imageshack for a number of years and have been quite satisfied with them. I originally thought they were somewhat difficult to use but they have improved and now it's quite easy. They allow direct linking which is required for posting photos at other sites like forums. That's an important feature of any free photo hosting site. A lot of sites do not permit such linking because it bypasses their advertising.
I've found with imageshack that over time as they add severs and move stuff around that some photos do get lost in the process. For that reason, one should always keep copies of all their photos under their own control and not allow any internet server to store the only copy. I've lost maybe 5% of my uploads over a period of several years. Of course I still have my originals but wherever I posted that used any of that 5% will now just show a dead link and no photo.
This site actually does have a photo and video section where registered users can create albums and upload photos. I've never used that feature but I'd expect one could do that and then use copy/paste in IE to make the photo show up in a post.
