I have a 1994 7753. One of the things I like best about this forum is the great education I get about these machines. As I read about problems others are having and the solutions provided, I learn a great deal about my own machine and things I should be doing to prevent problems. One issue I have read here lately is about a u-joint. So in keeping with my usual take action self, I went to inspect and grease this u-joint. But in checking my manual, I can find no mention of any u-joints on this machine. So does a 1994 7753 have this u-joint I keep hearing about?? Appreciate all the great info you guys provide. Thanks

Only machines with the north /south or longitudinal engine placement will have the u joint. east/west or crosswise engines have a belt to drive the pumps.

No u-joint on the 7753. It has a drive belt with a idler pulley. You should check the belt tension occasionally or any time you hear squealing, have loss of power.
For my belt driven machine I keep a spare belt on hand. Don't want to have it break on a weekend and have to leave it sit away from home.
