as the paint goes, as hot as turbos get even hi temp paint it will cook off. and probably stink while doing it. and I guess the aluminum housings are to displace heat faster, the two turbos that I have are older and cast iron. no opinion which is better, but I think most newer style have gone to aluminum. it is easier on tooling machines for sure.
